BTCTRNS1 — Meta Data

If you use soft shutdown, background jobs for real time data acquisition daemons RDS are terminated early but without stopping the daemons or closing the open requests. Successor jobs for daemons are scheduled using immediate start as in the normal background job change for daemons. The background job scheduler does not start the jobs during the soft shutdown however.

Suspend & Release Jobs during SAP Upgrade

The open requests are then processed as usual. We recommend using the report especially for making a system copy see below.

SAP BASIS-BACKGROUND JOB \u0026 OPERATION MODES-PART-12

See also SAP Note This provides the latest news, updates and corrections to the Best Practices document. You can use the report to stop the process chains and real time data acquisition load processes RDA load processes of the system and to restart them again once the system is started. The report resets the planning for the scheduled process chains. If the Upgrade or Uninstall the solution instructions were not followed and background jobs were lost, here are some suggestion on how to best address the issue: The most direct solution is to temporarily restore a backup of this system and get the list of all scheduled jobs either from t-code SM37 or directly from tables such as TBTCO, TBTCS, TBTCP.

Once the list of jobs is obtained, restore in the live system. If that is not possible, check SAP note If job deletion logging was active, the logs may contain the list of jobs that were deleted.

Then check t-code SM37 for previously finished BG jobs and use the information to recreate scheduled jobs. Version history.

One thought on “Stop and start batch jobs for maintenance”

If you lock a user , then the jobs running under this user locked user as step user will fail. But deadlock situation arrived. So I stopped the process. Now the system is in inconsistent state. Now to make the system consistent what I have to do? We have some immediate hotfix to be applied during which there should not be any background job running. At the same time, we don't want to kill the processes forcibly.

Stop and start batch jobs for maintenance

We are going perform a code page conversion of our SAP system this weekend. The conversion is expected to run Friday at pm thru Sunday at pm. My question is what happens to jobs that were scheduled to run on Friday evening or Saturday. Will these jobs get run The stage is now about 5 hours.
